About Goldfish

From Wikipedia.com:

The goldfish, Carassius auratus, was one of the earliest fish to be domesticated, and is still one of the most commonly kept aquarium fish and water gardens. A relatively small member of the carp family, the goldfish is a domesticated version of a dark-gray/brown carp native to East Asia. It was first domesticated in China and introduced to Europe in the late 17th century.

Main varities of Goldfish:

Black Moor, Bubble Eye, Butterfly tail, Calico, Celestial eye, Comet, Common, Fantail, Lionchu, Lionhead, Oranda, Panda Moor, Pearlscale, Pompom, Ranchu, Ryukin, Shubunkin, Telescope eye and the Veiltail

Why I love Goldfish

In Sara's words:

I was given my first goldfish by my grandmother, that was when I started to gain an interest in having fish as pets. I loved goldfish because of the rich and orangey-gold colours and being Chinese, goldfish are a sign of good luck.

I then bought a large aquarium where I had a few varities such as the Ryukin and Pearlscale.
